Built a proof of concept for inventory management as part of a Logistics 4.0 R&D project.

01 //The problem

Printemps ran an R&D project on Logistics 4.0: linking physical inventory to digital tracking. This proof of concept tested one piece of it: recording where each item is stored, and showing it on a map of the storage space.

02 //The approach

We were two developers, and built the app in React Native with Expo. The storage space is drawn as a 2D map divided into zones. When an item is scanned, the app associates it with its zone and indexes it, so it appears on the map where it is actually stored.

The hardest part was the interactivity of the map itself.

03 //The outcome

The proof of concept was built to be demonstrated, not to go into production, and it was presented to Printemps. It did not lead to a contract.
