Spearheaded the "Tout Numérique" automation project while ensuring the reliability of critical legacy systems.

01 //The problem

SMABTP, an insurer, receives customer mail as scanned letters, covering every kind of request an insurer gets. Before the "Tout Numérique" project, each one waited in a manual sorting queue: people read the letter, worked out what the customer needed, and sent it on to the right process. Triage took two to five days.

02 //The approach

I built an API from scratch in Node.js to take that reading off people's hands, as the only developer on it. It works from the scanned letters and identifies what each customer needs using a combination of keywords and business rules. Once the need is known, the API starts the matching workflow in the TIBCO BPM engine, so the letter lands directly in the right process. The system is built on a REST API and an event-driven architecture.

Alongside the project, I handled both evolutive and corrective maintenance of the existing applications: adding features, fixing complex bugs and optimising legacy code to keep critical business applications stable.

03 //The outcome

The automation went into production. Letters that used to wait two to five days for someone to read them are now routed in minutes.
